The Idea

This is the story of five archetypal garments and the scraps left behind in their production process. The blazer, trench coat, business shirt, biker and bomber jacket.

Seductively imperfect, the flaws, remnants and pieces left behind from creative process, once discarded are rescued and given new life by being thrust to the forefront as objects of un-ravelled beauty, and tools for new design discoveries to be unearthed.

The collection explores deconstructed tailoring and re-constituted florals. Paper, silk and cotton merge to form hybrid materials that oscillate between two and three dimensions, between garment and sculpture, activated by the human form in a cut, paste and collage process.
